Privacy Policy

SidePal ("we", "us") is built local-first: your tasks, plans, goals, and check-ins live on your device and sync to your private account so you can use them across devices. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Account data — your email address and display name when you create an account. App content — the goals, plans, tasks, and check-ins you create, stored on your device and replicated to our servers (Google Firebase) so your data survives a lost phone and syncs between devices. Waitlist — if you join the waitlist on this site, we store the email you submit, used only to contact you about SidePal's launch.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show third-party ads. We do not read your content except as needed to operate the service (e.g., syncing it to your devices, or processing a message you send to the AI coach in order to answer it).

Circles and sharing

Content you share into a Circle (progress, streaks, challenges) is visible to that Circle's members. Everything else stays private to your account.

AI features

Messages you send to the AI coach, and the context needed to answer them (such as relevant goals or plans), are processed by our AI provider to generate the response. They are not used to train models without your consent.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your synced data from our servers. To have your waitlist email removed, write to us at contact@sidepal.io.
